Ready for Lift Off

Watching the pilots and crew filling the balloons. We were going up outside of Boulder for a morning ride with Fair Winds Hot Air Balloon Flights.

Cinnamon Sunset

This is a valley at around 10,000 feet of elevation where Bri and I camped for the night on our way to Cinnamon Pass. The rain stayed to the west, but produced an amazing sunset. There were some other camp sites along the 4x4 road, but no one that we could see. You can see what I believe to be Wood Mountain, Seigal Mountain and Cinnamon Mountains in the distance. This is my first HDR attempt in a long time and must say the sky looks much more menacing than when we were there, but I couldn't resist posting.

Here Comes the Night

The sun setting on our campsite in the Bighorn National Forest. The shadow from the ridge to the West was moving quickly towards our tent.

Camp Sportsman Lake

This was our second night of camping while traveling the Sportsman Lake Trail through the Gallatin Mountains in Yellowstone. Our campsite was next to Sportsman Lake and our headlamp lit it up like a light bulb. We had a clear, crisp and amazingly beautiful night. The silhouette of the ridge around Sportsman Lake really made you feel small, especially at night with the Milky Way shining so brightly overhead. I didn't have a tripod with me and took some practice shots with a timer delay while resting the camera in different positions on a rock. I was so excited when I saw this one and think it's the best shot I've ever taken.
